The Amanyanabo of Kirike Kingdom, King Tamuno-Omisiki Ogube, has pledged full support for the fight against malnutrition, particularly among children, across his domain.
His commitment came after participating in a high-level training workshop on the Nutrition 774 Initiative, themed “Strengthening Capacity to Drive Action for Nutrition Delivery.”
King Ogube emphasized the need to cascade the campaign throughout the Kirike Kingdom, calling on local leaders and stakeholders to play active roles in ensuring children receive proper nutrition.
A highlight of the workshop was the formal launch of the Nutrition 774 Initiative in Rivers State. This was performed by the Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika.
The event was led by the Advocacy Team of the Nutrition 774 Initiative, under the coordination of the Senior Special Assistant on Public Health in the Presidency, Office of the Vice President.
The initiative aims to strengthen grassroots capacity for effective nutrition delivery in all 774 local government areas of Nigeria.
